Come along to an ATASDA workshop to gain knowledge and skills, and share the experience with other like-minded textile artists. Workshop tutors are experienced artists, and accredited teachers, some visiting from overseas or interstate. We welcome participants of all skill levels, from beginners to the more experienced. 

Textile Tasters are a way to try something new, experiment or develop skills further. They are taught by experienced members of ATASDA, on a single day.

Non-members who join ATASDA benefit from reduced member workshop rates.

Heidi Helyard - Polymer Clay Pendants

Learn to work with polymer clay, to create unique pieces of wearable art. Heidi will share her knowledge and skills as a graphic artist incorporating fibre into clay. This is her original design, and incorporates advanced polymer clay and fibre techniques.

Mix your own colours, learn to design the work, and stitch it with embroidery and other threads to create a pendant. You will acquire the skills and equipment to continue making at home.

2 Day workshop - Sunday 8 and Sunday 15 January

Simply put - shibori is Japanese for tie dye.  But it is so much more than rubber bands and string!  Learn how to stitch, wrap, tie, fold, clamp, and twist fabric to create beautiful patterns with the traditional blue indigo dye.

This will be two days of totally hands on textile art
