Making Invented Imaginary Paper Animals

Sat 30th Sep 2023 10:00 am -4:00 pm
Making Invented Imaginary Paper Animals

In this one-day workshop, Kathryn will spark your ideas and show you how to create your own paper menagerie, dreamed up from your imagination. You will invent and construct the beginnings of your own paper zoo ... first as ink drawings and then as small, lightweight, magical creatures in three dimensions. Constructed using cardboard, masking tape and papier mâché. At the end of the day you’ll have them ready to finish off at home by adding colour and decoration, for the perfect easy-care companion pet. Kathryn is a multi-disciplinary artist and experienced teacher. A keen observer of places and things. She draws and paints, makes prints and works with wood to make sculptural furniture and objects. She enjoys finding new ways to use her skills for creating one off images and three-dimensional pieces.

Kathryn is particularly keen to help people to use their imagination, and encourages a playful, experimental attitude to creativity.
